State Horticulture Mission has been launched in Andhra Pradesh in the year 2005 to promote holistic growth of the Horticulture sector through an area based regionally differentiated strategies. This programme is under implementation in 18 districts and 2 Tribal Areas of the state. Andhra Pradesh, with its high growth trajectory, a large population, significant dependence on agriculture and horticulture and an extensive coastline is likely to become a significant player in production and marketing of Horticultural produce.
